Chestnut Springs Series

Flawless

By Elsie Silver

Such a cute book. I loved the dynamic between the two MCs!

Potential Spoilers:

I was not the biggest fan of how Rhett always seemed to refer to Summer's smile as a smirk. I feel on sometimes a "smirk" was fitting, but other times it just seemed incorrectly placed in the story.

I am huge on enemies to lovers, but it sort of felt lacking. According to Rhett, he almost immediately was interested in Summer during that very first meeting at the office. But as the reader, even when it was Rhett's POV it just didn't align with his actions or thoughts. Initially their relationship felt rushed, as if it was night and day that they suddenly were into each other.

I still enjoyed the book. This book series so far has some of the best background characters of books I have read. From the sassiness of the Cade, and the funny comments from Harvey, I truly just cannot get enough. And the plot twist (Summer and the Doctor's relationship) was sooo good. I had to set my Kindle down for a second.

Potential spoilers:

I was never one to chose a single dad book, and honestly, when I first picked up this series I thought this was book one and I was not even going to bother reading it. But, thankfully it was book two and I had already loved Book one which meant I had to read Book two. After book one piqued my interest about Cade and his attitude (he was literally anti everything), I was definitely looking forward to book two. BUT, spoiler, when I saw WILLA was the FMC of book two. I was ecstatic.

I truly think book two is better than book one. The relationship seemed a tad more in-depth in terms of the relationship. She initially grabs his attention without either of them knowing who the other was. And one hand she thinks he is good looking and he has her attention while he is now anti her. Its definitely grumpy x sunshine.

I think this book definitely is way sweeter than Flawless because Cade is so tough that he can't physically and emotionally let Willa in. She has to breakdown his walls, and then right when that happens that plot twist happens. But it ties the story in nicely and I definitely expected it.
